The military department announced that the United States was preparing several scenarios using weapons of mass destruction
On Saturday, April 23, on the eve of Orthodox Easter, the head of the radiation, Chemical and Radiological Protection troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation warned about possible provocations using weapons of mass destruction that the United States is preparing. Experts note that Washington has willingly used similar methods before — the most publicized was the story of US Secretary of State Colin Powell, who shook a test tube with "weapons of mass destruction from Iraq" from the UN rostrum. On the same day, the head of the National Defense Control Center, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, also announced possible provocations to discredit the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
According to three scenarios
On Saturday, the head of the RCBZ troops, Igor Kirillov, said that the Russian Defense Ministry has data on the preparation of a number of provocations by the United States, the purpose of which is to accuse the Russian Federation of using weapons of mass destruction (WMD). According to Kirillov, this plan was developed in case of success of Russian troops in conducting a special military operation.
Igor Kirillov recalled that Sullivan, assistant to the US President for National Security, commented on President Biden's words that the US would respond "appropriately" to the possible use of WMD by our country. And on February 27, the US Permanent Representative to the UN, Greenfield, announced his intention to use any tools "under a false flag," including chemical and biological weapons to intimidate the Ukrainian population and the world community.
"Against this background, the US State Department positively reviewed the transfer to Ukraine of up to 400 thousand sets of personal protective equipment, 390 RCB reconnaissance devices and 15 Stryker reconnaissance vehicles, previously approved by Deputy Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Jenkins," Igor Kirillov said.
He recalled how in February 2003, US Secretary of State Colin Powell spoke at the UN and showed a test tube with a substance that he called a weapon of mass destruction being developed in Iraq. This was the reason for the invasion of this country, as a result of which more than half a million people were killed. The data on the presence of WMD in Iraq as a result, as is known, were not confirmed.
— In 2017, photos of "white Helmets" replicated by news agencies, in which people in ordinary gauze bandages take samples at the site of the alleged use of sarin, and at the same time there are no protective equipment at all on people nearby, led to a missile strike on the Shayrat airfield in Syria. And in 2018, staged filming with allegedly chlorine-poisoned Syrian children led to the destruction of a medical research center in Barzeh and Jamray. And only the testimony of eyewitnesses of these events brought by the Russian Federation to The Hague opened the eyes of the world community to what is happening. To date, no one has been held responsible for these provocations," said the head of the RCBZ troops.
According to him, three possible options have been developed for actions against Russia. The most likely is a "staged incident under a false flag." We are talking about the use of chemical or biological weapons or the staging of "sabotage" by the Russian Federation at Ukrainian facilities that were involved in the development of WMD. As Kirillov said, this can happen in Kiev, in Kharkiv or at the Zaporozhye NPP, which are under the control of the Russian Federation.
The second is "the most secretive use of WMD in small volumes" to suppress the will and ability to resist within the framework of solving a specific operational task. Such a scenario was considered at Azovstal, but the order of the President of the Russian Federation to cancel the assault thwarted the Pentagon's plans for its implementation.
The third, least likely scenario is the "open use of WMD on the battlefield" in case of failure to succeed with conventional weapons, said the head of the RCBZ troops. According to him, this option is being considered for Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, which have been turned into fortress cities.
— The staging of the use of WMD is aimed at accusing Russia of using prohibited weapons with the subsequent implementation of the so-called "Syrian scenario", in which the state is subjected to economic and political isolation, as well as exclusion from international organizations, including the UN Security Council. A possible scenario for the development of the situation is to put pressure on loyal and friendly countries of the Russian Federation, including India and China, forcing them to impose sanctions against our country," Igor Kirillov said.
He recalled that Russia completely destroyed its chemical arsenal in September 2017, which is confirmed by the OPCW certificate.
— The statement of CIA Director Burns about the possible use of tactical nuclear weapons by Russia is absurd, — Igor Kirillov believes. — With the current level of technical equipment of the international nuclear test monitoring system, it is impossible to hide the use of this type of weapon. If the director of the CIA does not understand this, then he is either a layman or he is being misled. Programs to create biological weapons in the USSR were completely curtailed in 1972. At the same time, the number of biological laboratories in the USA is completely incomparable with other countries. According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, 336 laboratories in 30 countries of the world are under Washington's control, which causes serious concern. Please note that, contrary to its international obligations, the United States has retained norms in national legislation that allow for the possibility of carrying out work in the field of biological weapons.
The head of the RCBZ troops recalled that the United States is the only state in the world that has used all three types of weapons of mass destruction in history.
— The dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War, the use of toxic chemicals in Vietnam and Iraq – all these crimes were left without proper assessment by relevant international organizations. Thus, in an attempt to discredit the special military operation of the Russian troops, the Kiev regime, at the suggestion of the American administration, is able to implement scenarios in the near future that will lead to the death of tens of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, cause an environmental and humanitarian catastrophe," Igor Kirillov warned.
Apparently, we are talking about Russian intelligence data, former Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ordzhonikidze commented to Izvestia.
- At such a time, she plays a very important role. Recently, we have been revealing many things about the times of the Great Patriotic War," he said. - Many of our victories are explained, among other things, by good intelligence data.
The diplomat noted that Washington willingly uses provocations in its policy.
- These are attempts to bring confusion, panic into the enemy's camp, to blacken him in the eyes of the world community, - Sergei Ordzhonikidze said. - We must be prepared for this, this is not the first and not the last provocation that we can expect. Why the allusion to Colin Powell? Who gave him this test tube? The CIA. I don't think he personally studied what's in this test tube. It was a political assignment. They were preparing the same political task now — as "Colin Powell's test tube No. 2".
The strikes continue
During the day of April 23, 22 military facilities of Ukraine were hit by high-precision air-based missiles of the Russian Aerospace Forces, said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
"Among them is a logistics terminal at a military airfield near Odessa, where a large batch of foreign weapons received from the United States and European countries was stored," he said.
Also in the list of targets destroyed by cruise missiles are two command and observation posts of the battalion and one brigade control point, eleven strong points, as well as places of concentration of manpower and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the area of Novaya Dmitrovka, a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system and three radar stations were destroyed as a result of an attack by high-precision air-launched missiles. Operational-tactical and army aviation of the VKS hit three Buk-M1 near the settlements of Kurakhovka and Romanovka and one anti-aircraft missile system "Tor" in the Sergeyevka area. In total, they attacked 79 military installations during the day and 66 during the night.
— Rocket troops and artillery carried out 1098 fire missions during the day. As a result of the strikes, three Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters were destroyed at the site near the village of Chuguev, three installations of the Osa-AKM anti—aircraft missile system on the outskirts of the village of Barvenkovo, 16 warehouses of weapons and military equipment, as well as 33 control points of Ukrainian units, Major General Igor Konashenkov said.
The Defense ministry added that rocket troops and artillery performed 102 more firing tasks on the afternoon of April 23. Six control points, 84 strong points and areas of accumulation of manpower and military equipment, as well as ten artillery batteries were destroyed.
Russian air defense means in the area of Novaya Dmitrovka in the Kharkiv region shot down a Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force in the air. On the night of April 23, an attack drone "Bayraktar TB-2" was destroyed over the settlement of Novaya Zarya in the Mykolaiv region. Another one was hit over the locality of Lozovaya in the Kharkiv region. In total, 18 drones of various models were declared destroyed during the day.
Reflecting enemy strikes in the area of Chernobayevka, the calculations of the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon complexes shot down two Tochka-U tactical missiles and three multiple rocket launchers in the air.
Since the beginning of the special military operation, according to the Ministry of Defense, 141 Ukrainian aircraft, 110 helicopters, 541 unmanned aerial vehicles, 264 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2479 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 278 multiple rocket launchers, 1081 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 2321 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
On the afternoon of April 23, the AFU fired mortars at a border checkpoint in the Glushkovsky district, the governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit said. As a result, the Rosselkhoznadzor premises caught fire. There were no wounded or dead.
Against Faith
On Saturday, April 23, the head of the National Defense Control Center, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, warned about provocations being prepared by the Kiev authorities. According to him, this is done to discredit the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Thus, the bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church received recommendations from the office of President Zelensky: "on the night of April 23-24, do not hold traditional Easter celebrations, replacing them with an online broadcast of worship services in churches. At the same time, these notifications were deliberately not sent to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) in order to organize a mass gathering of believers in the churches of the UOC-MP. The provocative actions are carried out against the background of the campaign carried out by the Kiev regime in the Ukrainian media to accuse Russia of allegedly organizing "rocket attacks on religious sites," including the Svyatogorsk Lavra.
"A situation is being deliberately created in which any incident specially provoked by the SBU in the churches of the UOC-MP crowded today will be used to the maximum to aggravate Kiev's divisive policy and activate a new wave of Russophobia in Ukraine and abroad," Mikhail Mizintsev said.
In addition, according to the general, Kiev is preparing another sophisticated provocation to discredit the armed forces of the Russian Federation in front of the world community: in the area of the Odessa port "Yuzhny", the special services of Ukraine are planning to use toxic chemicals to accuse Russian troops of attacking civilian infrastructure.
— The most likely scenario for staging may be an imitation of a missile strike by the Russian armed forces on the western naval base of the Ukrainian Navy, as a result of which the port's cooling plant, located 500 meters from the military facility, will be blown up. To implement this scenario, a tank with ammonia (10 tons) was delivered from Odessa to the territory of the enterprise on April 18, and personal protective equipment was issued to law enforcement and special services in the Odessa region. In Lisichansk of the Luhansk People's Republic, SBU officers together with the UK special services are preparing another fake. For this purpose, representatives of the Ukrainian and Western media arrived in the city in advance, who had previously carried out staged photo and video shooting in Bucha. We warn the so-called "civilized West" in advance that these fakes from the Kiev authorities about the alleged "excesses of the Russians" are planned to be widely distributed through the Western media in the near future," General Mizintsev said.
Despite the numerical superiority
On April 23, the Russian Defense Ministry told about the soldiers and officers who showed courage and dedication in the battles. Senior sailor Maxim Leukhin was carrying ammunition, moving as part of a car convoy, when a heavy mortar attack began.
- Realizing that a shell hitting a truck with ammunition would lead to detonation and damage to many cars, Maxim took the car out of the shelling and delivered the cargo to the advancing Russian units in a timely manner, - the military department reported.
The howitzer artillery division, where the driver of the infantry fighting vehicle, Corporal Vadim Yalalov, serves, was given the task of organizing defense on the approaches to one of the liberated settlements. During the day, the unit repelled several attacks, causing significant damage to the enemy. All this time, Vadim Yalalov brought his BMP to the threatened areas, and, skillfully maneuvering, saved the car from return fire more than once.
- After one of the volleys, Vadim received a shrapnel wound from a mortar mine that exploded nearby, but despite it, he did not leave the battle and continued to defend the settlement, - the Defense Ministry noted.
Thanks to the selfless actions of Corporal Yalalov, the BMP crew inflicted significant damage to the enemy, which made it possible to defend the settlement, the military department said.
The division of engineering troops of Senior Lieutenant Anton Kalinchenko was included in the battalion tactical group of the Airborne Forces to guide the pontoon crossing. Moving to the specified place, the senior lieutenant found a Ukrainian armed formation. Russian servicemen entered the battle, despite the numerical superiority of the enemy. Competently located on the ground, Anton Kalinchenko's unit was one of the first to attack the militants.
- During the collision, Anton Kalinichenko was wounded, but after giving himself first aid, he continued to fight until the enemy was completely destroyed, - the Russian military department noted.
On April 23, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Timur Ivanov presented the medals "For Bravery" and "Suvorov Medal" to the wounded servicemen at the A.A. Vishnevsky Central Military Clinical Hospital in Krasnogorsk. He thanked the soldiers and officers for their heroism and dedication on behalf of the Minister of Defense and wished them a speedy recovery.
