The command of the Chinese Navy for the first time published footage of the launch of a new hypersonic cruise missile by the Type 055 destroyer.
The PLA began testing the YJ-XX anti-ship missile in 2019. The ammunition has a range of about a thousand kilometers, a speed of about five Mach and is designed to defeat large surface targets. According to the developers, the missile is capable of overcoming the American Aegis missile defense system. The YJ-XX carrier is the frigates of Project 055.
Almost simultaneously, a video of the Chinese strategic missile carrier H-6N with a suspended DF-21D air-launched ballistic missile appeared on the Network.
"Greetings to the US Navy in the Asia-Pacific region from the Chinese Dagger," Dambiev, who published the video, commented.
The US considers the DF-21D the most serious threat to its fleet. This is the first ballistic missile capable of hitting aircraft carrier groups in motion. The missile is guided by the commands of reconnaissance satellites and is capable of carrying both nuclear warheads and a hypersonic maneuvering unit.
