Washington. April 13. INTERFAX - The United States will send 200 M113 armored personnel carriers, 11 Mi-17 helicopters, 300 Switchblade drones to Kiev as part of an $800 million package of military assistance to Ukraine, the Pentagon reported on Wednesday.
At a briefing, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby showed reporters a list of weapons that the United States will transfer to Ukraine.
"Part of this assistance is new batches of weapons complexes already supplied, and the other part is new weapons complexes that were not previously supplied to Ukraine," he said.
Ukraine should also receive eighteen 155-millimeter howitzers and 40 thousand shells for them, 500 missiles for Javelin anti-tank complexes and thousands of units of other anti-tank systems, 10 counter-battery radar, two air surveillance radars, 100 cross-country vehicles, unmanned vessels to protect the coast.
In addition, the list includes medical equipment, equipment for protection against nuclear, chemical and biological threats, 30 thousand bulletproof vests and helmets, more than 2 thousand units of optical devices and laser rangefinders, C-4 explosives, M18A1 "Claymore" mines.
Earlier on Wednesday, US President Joe Biden announced that he had approved an $800 million package of security assistance to Ukraine, including artillery systems, armored personnel carriers and helicopters.
The Hill reported that, taking into account the new US aid package, since the beginning of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, more than $2.4 billion in security assistance has been allocated to Kiev, and in total, more than $3 billion during the work of the Biden administration.
