The ships of the Baltic Fleet worked out the destruction of the submarine of the conditional enemy in the exercises
Small anti-submarine ships (MPC) "Aleksin" and "Kabardino-Balkaria" of the Baltic Fleet within the framework of the exercises worked out the fight against a submarine of a conditional enemy. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the fleet.
"During the performance of tasks at sea, the crews of the small anti-submarine ships "Aleksin" and "Kabardino-Balkaria" of the Baltic Naval Base worked out anti-submarine actions — conducted exercises on search, detection, maintaining contact and tracking, as well as countering a simulated enemy submarine using anti—submarine weapons systems," the report says.
The ships successfully detected and classified the target during the exercise. After that, the submarine of the conditional enemy was destroyed with the help of anti-submarine weapons. The crews of the MPC used RBU-6000 Smerch-2 rocket launchers.
The ships of the 1131M project are designed to search for and destroy enemy high-speed submarines. The MPC received two torpedo tubes, Smerch-2 installations and two depth charge throwers to combat submarines.
In February, the ships of the Baltic Fleet worked out the destruction of air targets. The air defense exercises involved corvettes, minesweepers, boats, small missile ships and small anti-submarine ships.
