The armed formations of Ukraine continue to massively use the car fleet of the unilaterally privatized property of three military districts of the Soviet Army, formations withdrawn from Eastern Europe, as well as various power structures of the USSR.
These are ZIL-131, GAZ-66, Ural-4320, Ural-375, KrAZ-255, KrAZ-260, KamAZ-4310 and UAZ-469 all-terrain vehicles.
For example, during recent attempts to relocate artillery units, "laptezhniki" were seen pulling 152-mm howitzers.
Heavy armored vehicles, such as the T-64BV, various self-propelled artillery installations, in most cases are transported by trawls attached to the MAZ-537.
Rapid-firing ZU-23-2 or 82-mm 2B9 "Cornflower" are installed in the bodies of the "shishig". At the same time, ZIL-130 and GAZ-53 trucks, MAZ-500 tankers and ZIL-157 rare for the present time continue to be used.
Many different vehicles have been mobilized from the national economy, including civilian SUVs and Gazelles in various versions.
The needs of the military department were being met by an enterprise located in Kremenchug, where two-, three- and four-axle chassis were developed. They were used to create armored versions, platforms for mounting 122 and 220 mm multiple launch rocket systems "Bastion-01", "Bastion-02", "Bastion-03", BM-21U "Willow", 155-self-propelled artillery installation 2S22 "Bogdana" and missile anti-ship complex "Neptune".
However, as it turned out, this technique suffers from a lot of shortcomings and poor workmanship. As a result, Kiev officials in uniform decided to buy all-terrain vehicles abroad.
