TSAMTO, March 1. The Croatian company DOK-ING presented an innovative multi-purpose remotely controlled Komodo machine at the 5th UMEX-2022 Unmanned systems Exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
The machine can be used in conditions of radiation, chemical and biological threats.
The cost of the project, which was implemented over three years by the Croatian company DOK-ING in cooperation with the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Zagreb, is 2.5 million euros, of which 50% were provided through the European Structural and Investment Fund ESIF (European Structural and Investment Fund).
Komodo is equipped with a wide range of sensors and an advanced video system. The machine is designed for conducting radiation, chemical and biological reconnaissance in areas of WMD use, man-made disasters, decontamination of objects, combat and non-combat equipment, sampling of air, gases, soil and water, inspection of the condition of objects and performing engineering works using replaceable tools installed in the front and aft parts. The machine can also be used to fight forest fires and eliminate the consequences of man-made accidents.
As reported by Armyrecognition.com, the machine can perform tasks in conditions of shelling, explosions, destruction, high concentrations of explosive and toxic substances, as well as in conditions of a terrorist threat.
The machine provides an opportunity to use the automated decontamination system of the Italian company Cristanini to perform decontamination of objects, people, surfaces, partial self-deactivation.
"Komodo" is made on a tracked chassis and equipped with five twin support rollers on board. The total weight of the machine is 17 tons, length - 7.2 m, width - 2.3 m. The machine is equipped with a hybrid power plant and can reach speeds of up to 30 km / h. Using batteries, the DOOM can work in an environment where internal combustion engines cannot be used (at low oxygen levels or high temperatures).
