Rostov-on-Don. March 1st. INTERFAX - Ships of the Caspian Flotilla (CFl) of the Southern Military District (SE) conducted an air defense exercise at their base in Kaspiysk, the press service of the SE reported on Tuesday.
"The crews of small rocket ships, small artillery ships and boats, as well as minesweepers worked out combat training tasks. In total, about 10 surface ships of the CFl were involved in the planned combat training event," the report says.
It is noted that the servicemen trained in detecting unidentified air targets and repelling attacks by means of an air attack of a conditional enemy.
According to the press service, during the performance of the combat training mission, the approach of the conditional enemy aircraft to the base point was detected by means of radio surveillance. The crews of the ships were put on alert for the use of air defense systems, combat crews performed tasks of analyzing and collecting data on the air situation.
Operators of combat posts classified air targets, then they were conditionally hit by calculations of shipboard anti-aircraft missile and artillery systems, the press service noted.
