Exercises with the participation of about 1 thousand servicemen were held in the Orenburg region
TASS, February 28. Servicemen of the motorized rifle unit of the Central Military District (CVO) repelled an attack by a conditional enemy on a settlement during exercises in the Orenburg region, the press service of the Central Military District reported on Monday.
Practical actions took place at the Totsky training ground. "According to the plan, the calculations of the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles detected the enemy advancing in the direction of the settlement to capture the infrastructure. Mixed firing groups of motorized rifle units on T-72B3 tanks and BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles took up defense on the way and attacked the detachments of the conditional enemy," the report said.
The armored vehicles were stopped by fire from RPG-7B grenade launchers, the personnel destroyed scattered groups of the conditional enemy from regular weapons. Artillery support for motorized rifle units was provided by a battery of 152 mm self-propelled howitzers "Msta-S" and 120 mm mortars 2B11.
About 1 thousand servicemen took part in the exercises, more than 90 units of military equipment were involved.
