The Russian Su-27 and Su-30SM of the Southern Military District worked out the interception of the intruder and the battle during the exercises
During the planned exercises, Russian Su-27 and Su-30SM fighters were used. Fighter pilots of the Southern Military District (SE) worked out the interception of a conditional border violator and an air battle over the Rostov region. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Southern Federal District.
"More than 20 pilots of the fighter aviation regiment of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District (SE) performed an interception of a conditional violator of the airspace border in the sky of the Rostov region. The servicemen worked out the tasks singly, as part of pairs, units and groups," the message says.
The fighters were lifted into the air to intercept air targets in pairs. After that, the pilots of the Su-27 and Su-30SM regrouped the vehicles into links and performed an air battle.
As part of the pairs, the pilots worked out afterburner turns, combat turns, as well as elements of aerobatics. The pilots performed the Nesterov loop, "barrel", "slide" and "wedge". The exercises were performed at altitudes up to 5000 meters and ultra-low altitudes. During the working out of special exercises, the crews spent more than 200 minutes in the air.
In February, the Russian Su-30SM of the Western Military District (ZVO) worked out the interception of a reconnaissance aircraft of a conditional enemy. As part of the exercise, the pilots performed actions to force the landing of the aircraft.
Earlier in the same month, the publication Military Watch told about the superiority of the Su-30SM2 over Western aircraft. The publication notes the maneuverability and range of hitting targets with air-to-air missiles.
