The crews of fighters of the Southern Military District (SE) intercepted a conditional violator of the airspace border over the Rostov region during planned exercises. Su-27 and Su-30SM fighters participated in the maneuvers, the press service of the Southern Military District reported on Friday.
"More than 20 pilots of the fighter aviation regiment of the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District (SE) performed an interception of a conditional violator of the airspace border in the sky of the Rostov region. The servicemen worked out the tasks singly, as part of pairs, units and groups," the message says.
It is noted that the crews of Su-27 and Su-30SM fighters were lifted into the air to intercept air targets as part of pairs. After regrouping into units, the servicemen performed an air battle.
As part of the pairs, the pilots performed afterburner turns and combat turns, as well as elements of aerobatics: "barrel", "slide", "wedge", Nesterov loop, the press service added. The pilots performed special exercises at ultra-low altitudes and at altitudes up to 5 thousand meters.
The press service reported that when practicing special flight training exercises, the military personnel of the Southern Military District spent more than 200 minutes in the air.
