Russian paratroopers may soon receive new self-propelled ATGMs. Yesterday, on February 21, the TASS news agency reported that Rostec State Corporation is completing tests of the Kornet-D1 self-propelled anti-tank missile system based on the BMD-4M.
The tracked vehicle has started the final stage of firing tests and is undergoing laboratory and road tests in parallel. If the testing is completed successfully, the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation will soon receive a highly mobile carrier of anti-tank missiles "Kornet".

According to TASS, ATGMs for "Kornet-D1" have a range increased to 10 km. The combat vehicle will be able to launch and aim two missiles at different targets at the same time. Since the guidance is carried out by a laser beam, this gives a noticeable increase in firepower.
In addition to the Cornet-D1, based on the BMD-4M, its analogue is being developed on the chassis of the Tiger-M armored car. At the same time, the wheeled version of the Kornet-D1 can carry eight missiles against four in the tracked version.
