Gunners of the Baltic Fleet conducted firing from Hyacinth cannons
Artillery units of the Army Corps of the Baltic Fleet performed live firing. The military used 152 mm Hyacinth cannons at a training ground in the Kaliningrad region. This was reported in the press service of the Baltic Fleet.
Calculations of large-caliber guns fired at targets that imitated military equipment, accumulations of manpower and fortifications of a conditional enemy. The gunners completed more than 20 firing tasks.
Reconnaissance was provided by drones, which transmitted the coordinates of targets to the control point in real time. The gunners hit targets at a distance of more than 20 kilometers with high-explosive shells. The report notes that all targets were successfully hit.
Before the shooting, the gunners marched to the area of the tasks and worked out counteraction to the sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the conditional enemy. More than 200 military personnel and more than 30 pieces of equipment were involved in the maneuvers.
The 2A36 Hyacinth-B cannon is designed to defeat enemy equipment, manpower and fortifications. The maximum firing range of an active-rocket projectile exceeds 33 kilometers. The rate of fire of the gun is six rounds per minute. Hyacinth can fire high-explosive, cluster, and cumulative shells.
In December 2021, Uraltransmash handed over to the military a batch of modernized 2S7M Malka self-propelled guns. The machines received new communication and navigation equipment.
