The Polish Navy has officially announced the completion of the tests of the minesweeper Kormoran. Yesterday, February 17, the portal defence24.pl He reported that the Remontowa shipyard has completed all stages of testing, and the ship is ready for military service.
Kormoran was handed over to the fleet for testing in November 2017. Thus, it took the navy more than four years to prepare the ship for service. At the same time, it is indicated that the sailors had no complaints about the ship itself.

Since the Kormoran is considered an experimental unit, the Polish Navy practiced various types and combinations of equipment and weapons on it. According to the results of the tests of the first minesweeper, more than a hundred different modifications were prepared for two serial minesweepers ORP Albatros (602) and ORP Mewa (603), which are at the final stage of readiness.
Among the most significant changes were the replacement of navigation systems, towed sonars were added, Wróbel 23 mm automatic guns were replaced with the OSU-35K system, in addition, new underwater drones are used. It is planned that a pair of serial minesweepers will be delivered to the fleet in the coming months.
