A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) consisting of the Varyag Guards missile cruiser, the Admiral Tributs large anti-submarine ship (BOD) and the Boris Butoma large sea tanker will complete combat missions in the Mediterranean Sea in March this year and go on a hike to the home port of Vladivostok. "In March, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet, the Varyag missile cruiser and the Admiral Tributs BOD, will complete their combat watch in the Mediterranean Sea and go to Vladivostok," the agency interlocutor said.
According to him, on the way back, a detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet will visit the Republic of Seychelles. The call is organized through international military cooperation.
The Varyag Guards missile cruiser and the Admiral Tributs BOD participated in exercises of the Russian Navy in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. Several units of the Northern and Black Sea Fleets were also involved in these maneuvers - the Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser, the Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov and Admiral Grigorovich frigates, the Vice Admiral Kulakov BOD and support vessels, as well as over 30 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
A detachment of ships of the Pacific Fleet left Vladivostok for the Mediterranean Sea on December 29, 2021. The campaign is commanded by the chief of staff of the connection of surface ships of the Pacific Fleet, Captain of the first rank Anatoly Velichko. During a long trip to the place of combat service, Pacific ships visited the Seychelles. The call was timed to coincide with the 105th anniversary of the visit of the famous armored cruiser "Varyag" to the port of Victoria in the Seychelles.
