Exercises with live firing from the armament of T-72B3 tanks and armored personnel carriers BTR-82A on a conditional enemy took place at a training ground in the Sverdlovsk region. This is stated in a message distributed on Thursday by the press service of the Central Military District (CVO).
"During the march to the area of practical actions, the servicemen worked out combat protection from reconnaissance and sabotage groups of a conditional enemy, the actions of air defense units during a raid by a conditional enemy aircraft, protection from weapons of mass destruction. At the final stage, the servicemen carried out live firing from T-72B3 tanks, BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, as well as mortars and grenade launchers at various ranges," the report says.
It is clarified that the fire was conducted on targets simulating armored vehicles and firing points of a conditional enemy. Target destruction control and fire correction were provided by the calculations of the Orlan-10 drones.
The press service added that the main focus of the exercises was on working out the interaction between motorized rifle, tank, artillery and other units when conducting offensive and maneuver defense in a wooded area. In total, more than 500 servicemen of the Central Military District tank division took part in the exercises.
