The US military deployed the M-LIDS system at the Polish airport
The United States has transferred new equipment to combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Poland. Radars, air defense systems (air defense) and a system of protection against drones were noticed at the airport of the city of Zamosc, Defense Express reports .
The US military deployed the M1097 Avenger anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), the AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel radar and the new M-LIDS (Mobile Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Integrated Defense System) system at the airport.
The M-LIDS complex is designed to protect ground units from attacks by small-sized drones. The M-LIDS combat vehicle received a module with a 30 mm XM914 automatic cannon, a machine gun and Coyote Block 2 missiles. The M-LIDS is based on the chassis of the Oshkosh M-ATV armored car.
Earlier it became known about the tests of the robotic complex "Marker". The car was used as a means of air defense. The robot hit the UAV with a machine gun.
In January, scientists at the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defense proposed destroying clusters of drones with fragments.
