More than 140 warships and 1,000 units of military equipment were involved in a series of exercises of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea.
"Over 140 warships and support vessels, more than 60 aircraft, 1 thousand units of military equipment and about 10 thousand military personnel are involved," Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, Commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, said in a report.
Earlier it became known about the arrival of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in Syria, where he inspected the progress of the exercises of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, RT says.
