The gunners of the Northern Fleet destroyed the tanks of the imaginary enemy with the fire of MT-12 cannons
Units of the Northern Fleet (SF) have worked out the destruction of tanks of a conditional enemy by direct fire. The gunners of a separate motorized rifle brigade of the Army Corps of the Northern Fleet used self-propelled howitzers and anti-tank guns. This was reported in the press service of the Northern Fleet.
According to the scenario of the exercises, the SF units had to stop a column of armored vehicles of a conditional enemy. The gunners fired MT-12 Rapier anti-tank guns and 2S3M Acacia self-propelled howitzers at targets at a range of up to three kilometers. Each crew received three artillery shots.
Also, the gunners hit an attacking group of infantry of a conditional enemy and a recoilless gun on a car chassis with the fire of a PKT machine gun.
More than 80 servicemen took part in the maneuvers. Also, the gunners involved about 20 pieces of equipment.
In February, The Drive edition evaluated the effectiveness of the use of MT-12R with the 1A31 radar sighting system by the Ukrainian military. The publication The Drive noted that the Soviet-made gun can be effective against outdated models of armored vehicles.
Earlier, Russian and Belarusian gunners worked out the destruction of a conditional enemy. The military used self-propelled howitzers 2S3M "Acacia" and multiple rocket launchers "Grad".
