Air tanker KC-46A of the US Air Force took part in ultrafast refueling
Air Force (Air Force) The USA demonstrated ultrafast refueling from the KC-46A Pegasus air tanker. The Drive edition drew attention to the video posted on YouTube.
The event was attended by a KC-46A Pegasus from McConnell Base (Kansas), which arrived at the Northwest Field runway of Andersen Base (Guam). Immediately after landing, the fuel from the plane was quickly pumped into two refueling machines.
"Then the fuel can be distributed among other aircraft, for example, to support fighters, while the tanker flies away, minimizing the time spent on the ground and increasing survivability," the publication says.
In September 2020, the Breaking Defense publication, referring to the head of the Air Transportation Command of the Air Force, Jacqueline Van Ovost, reported that KC-46 military tanker aircraft and C-17 Globemaster III strategic military transport aircraft of the US Air Force in the conflicts of the future should be able to drop "smart" bombs and transmit tactical data.
