As part of the first stage of the exercise, the crews of long-range Tu-22M3 bombers performed relocation from the deployment airfield in the Baikal region to the Amur Region," the report says.
"During the flight, the crews practiced practical bombing of ground targets in the Irkutsk region. The event involved, among others, young pilots who received practical training in piloting techniques, air navigation and combat use of aviation weapons," the ministry added.
According to the military department, up to 10 long-range aircraft will be involved in the exercise.
