The Ukrainian enterprise KHBTZ has started testing the T-64BV tank of the 2022 model
Tests of the upgraded version of the Soviet T-64 tank began in Ukraine. The state enterprise "Kharkiv Armored Plant" (KHBTZ), which is part of the Ukroboronprom concern, has equipped the T-64BV model 2022 with new equipment. This is reported by Defense Express with reference to the press service of the concern.
Work on the modernization of the T-64BV was carried out within the framework of the order of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine. The T-64BV model 2022 received new surveillance devices and sights of the third generation. The tank's security was reinforced with lattice screens, and rubber shields were installed on the turret.
The tank also received an upgraded fuel system and additional protection of fuel tanks. The KHBTZ noted that the car was equipped with navigation and communication facilities that meet NATO standards.
In November 2021, the American edition of 19FortyFive evaluated the Ukrainian tank "Oplot". The publication noted that the small number of "Strongholds" will not allow to reveal the advantages of this type of machines.
In December 2021, KHBTZ upgraded the T-64BVK tank. The car received new surveillance devices and a navigation system.
