A new version of the Tiger-M armored car armed with the Kornet-D1 anti-tank missile system (another designation "Kornet-EM") was presented for the first time in the report of the RT Online channel in Arabic. This is the reconnaissance and control vehicle of the battery commander. It has fewer guides for launching ATGMs, but is equipped with more powerful detection means, including radar.
Last year, a variant installed on the BMD-4M amphibious assault vehicle was shown. This technique is made in Tula.
Earlier, at military parades and various exhibitions held in Moscow, including the International Military-Technical Forum "Army", a version equipped with two launchers with four ATGMs on each was demonstrated. Eight more pieces are available on board as additional ammunition.
It is known that such missiles have a range increased to 10,000 meters and a high armor penetration of up to 1300 mm. They are also capable of destroying low-speed, low-flying air targets and various well-fortified defensive structures.
According to many military experts, this Russian development surpasses the American FGM-148 Javelin in almost all the most important characteristics. In 2018, for the first time, a version was shown, made on another armored car - "Typhoon K-53949", belonging to a heavier class of wheeled vehicles.
