INTERFAX-SOUTH - The crews of the Erebuni aviation military base (Armenia) and the calculations of the anti-aircraft units of the air defense of the military base of the Southern Military District in Armenia have worked out joint actions with the servicemen of the duty shifts of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
"The military personnel of the Southern Military District, together with the forces and means of the aviation and air defense forces of the Republic of Armenia, carried out the detection and interception of air targets imitating airspace violators, providing cover for air borders and units located in the area of the deployment of the Russian compound and providing assistance to aircraft conditionally in distress," the message says.
It is noted that the training flights of the duty shift were carried out along the state border of Armenia in the zones of joint duty of the anti-aircraft and anti-aircraft missile units of the air defense of the two states at altitudes from 50 to 6 thousand meters at various speeds.
