Sergei Shoigu inspected the course of the inspection of the reaction forces of Russia and Belarus
During a working trip to Belarus, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, together with his Belarusian counterpart Viktor Khrenin, inspected the performance of tasks by servicemen of the Union State's armed response forces. And also heard reports from the command of the Russian group on preparations for the joint exercises "Allied Resolve-2022". During the visit, the Russian Defense Minister was received by the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
The Western media, reporting on this visit, are trying to find some horror stories. They say that, they say, Russia and Belarus are preparing for war with Ukraine. But we are talking about planned exercises of the two states, which were reported in advance by the Ministry of Defense.
Belarus has done an unprecedented job of deploying a large group of Russian troops on its territory in preparation for the joint exercises "Allied Resolve-2022," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting with President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko. "Today we conducted a large inspection of what has been done at this stage of preparation for the exercises, what needs to be done. But you quite rightly noted that the first stage, which consisted in the transfer of large groups of troops with equipment for almost 10 thousand kilometers, is coming to an end. And, of course, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who gave all the commands to deploy a large network to receive such a group, did an unprecedented job," Shoigu said.
After the meeting with the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, Defense Ministers Sergei Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin inspected units and subunits of the armed forces of the two countries at the Brest training ground. The reaction forces of the Union State are practicing the infliction of fire damage to a conditional enemy with the use of reconnaissance-shock and shock-fire complexes. To prevent the breakthrough of the "enemy", a tactical air assault was used.
Aviation support of the units was carried out by Yak-130 and Su-25 aircraft. According to the target designations of the advanced aviation gunner, the aircraft struck the equipment and manpower of the conditional enemy with unguided aviation missiles.
Divisions of 152-mm modernized self-propelled howitzers 2S3M ("Acacia") and 120-mm self-propelled artillery 2S9 ("Nona-S"), two rocket batteries of multiple launch rocket systems BM-21 ("Grad"), mortar battery 2S12 ("Sleigh"), mortar battery 2B23 ("Nona-M1") were involved in the fire defeat.
Sergei Shoigu laid wreaths at the eternal Flame of the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex and paid tribute to the memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War. After that, he visited the temple located on the territory of the memorial complex, and gave the abbot an icon of the "Holy Host" as a gift to the temple.
