A detailed video of the accident on the US Navy aircraft carrier Carl Vinson in the South China Sea has appeared online.
The video was shot by video surveillance cameras installed on the flight deck. On January 24, at 16:31 ship time, the F-35 hit the fuselage on the deck with force during landing (it looks like the landing gear was not released), caught fire, slid along the flight deck from the stern to the nose and fell overboard.
According to the US Navy command, seven people from the ship's crew were injured in the accident. Three - including the fighter pilot - were taken to a hospital in the Philippines. Four people were helped on board.
The United States expects to raise the fallen fighter jet as soon as possible, because it is not without reason that its technologies and secret equipment are of great interest to China and Russia. And Beijing considers the South China Sea, where the accident occurred, to be a zone of its interests.
