Calculations of anti-tank missile systems "Kornet" at the Adanak mountain range successfully hit targets simulating enemy armored vehicles, and the marines practiced landing from armored personnel carriers and combat deployment taking into account terrain features.
"During the execution of the combat training mission at the Adanak mountain range in the Republic of Dagestan, the calculations of the Kornet anti-tank missile systems of the Caspian Flotilla performed the deployment, search, capture and destruction of targets, as well as the change of firing positions. ... Calculations of anti-tank missile systems carried out two combat launches of missiles that successfully hit targets simulating armored vehicles of a simulated enemy at distances over 5 thousand meters," the report says.
In preparation for the operation of the Kornet complexes, which have recently entered service with the district, the personnel underwent retraining at the specialized training center of the Ministry of Defense of Russia in the Saratov region.
As part of the exercises, the reinforced company tactical group of the Marine Infantry regiment of the Caspian Flotilla on regular BTR-82A was involved. The marines performed the tasks in the latest combat equipment "Warrior", the press service added.
