At the Brest training ground, the Russian and Belarusian military practiced the interaction of assault aircraft, helicopters and artillery. A "fire bag" was arranged for militant groups.
Yak-130 and Su-25 attack aircraft were involved in live firing and missile and bomb strikes. Before launching an air strike on the targets of a simulated enemy, a joint tactical group from Russia and Belarus conducted aerial reconnaissance using drones.
Then the Mi-24 attack helicopters entered the battle, which suppressed the enemy objects that had survived after the first air raid. Air strikes, as noted in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, were carried out by a group of helicopters without entering the air defense zone of a conditional enemy. After that, parachutists were thrown out from Mi-8MTV5 helicopters and army special forces groups were landed.
At the same time, Belarusian and Russian gunners defeated the enemy's control points, after which they carried out an active fire attack on newly identified targets.
To carry out the "fire bag", a division of 152-mm modernized self-propelled howitzers "Acacia", a division of 120-mm self-propelled artillery units "Nona-S", two multiple rocket launchers "Grad", and two mortar batteries were involved.
In turn, the tankers used the method of fire destruction "Tank carousel". When using this method, the enemy is under constant fire from T-72M3 cannons.
"At the same time, one of the tanks is firing from behind the embankment at already detected targets with a cursory fire, the second tank operates from the observation area and conducts reconnaissance to detect new enemies. The third tank is in the waiting area and ready for further action," the military department said.
During the second stage of the exercises "Allied Determination - 2022". The military of the two countries will prevent the penetration of armed groups of militants across the state border. Practical actions will be held at the Domanovsky, Gozhsky, Obuz-Lesnovsky, Brest and Osipovichi ranges. The maneuvers will end on February 20.
