Aircraft of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia and the Belarusian Air Force, during joint exercises, launched a missile attack on a conditional enemy whose forces were stationed at the Brest training ground. This was reported in the Russian military department.
"The stage with the combat firing of combined arms and amphibious units using artillery fire, as well as the practice of assault and army aviation strikes took place on Thursday at the Brest training ground. The events took place as part of the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
It is explained that the aviation support of the units of the armed forces of Russia and Belarus was carried out by Yak-130 and Su-25 aircraft. At the same time, an aerial reconnaissance using unmanned aerial vehicles of the joint tactical group was carried out in advance to launch an airstrike on the targets of a conditional enemy. "According to the target designations of the advanced aviation gunner, Yak-130 and Su-25 aircraft were hit by unguided aviation missiles on the equipment and manpower of the conditional enemy," the military said.
The Defense Ministers of Russia and Belarus, Sergei Shoigu and Viktor Khrenin, personally supervised the development of combat training tasks by subordinates.

Recall that the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State will take place in two stages. At the first stage (until February 9), the redeployment and creation of groups of troops (forces) will take place, the organization of the protection and defense of important state and military facilities, the protection of the state border in the airspace, checking the readiness and ability of the air defense forces and means on duty to perform tasks to cover important objects.
During the second stage of the inspection (from February 10 to 20), a joint exercise "Allied Resolve-2022" will be held, within the framework of which the issues of suppressing and repelling external aggression, as well as countering terrorism and protecting the interests of the Union State will be worked out.
During the exercise, measures will be taken to strengthen border security to prevent the penetration of armed militant groups, to block the channels of delivery of weapons and ammunition, as well as to search, block, and destroy illegal armed formations and sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the enemy.
