The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov announced plans for the construction of the Baykar Makina plant
Ukraine plans to launch the production of Turkish Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Cooperation in the production of unmanned platforms of Baykar Makina will be included in the agreement that Ukraine and Turkey will sign on Thursday, February 3. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov, reports Telegram -PavlovskyNews channel.
As part of the meeting of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev, they plan to sign a framework agreement on the beginning of cooperation in the field of high technologies.
The head of the Defense Department noted that the construction of a plant for the production of Bayraktar drones in Ukraine would be an example of filling the agreement. According to him, the country may also create a training center for operators of unmanned vehicles. Reznikov added that Turkish UAVs of the next generation will receive Ukrainian engines.
In November 2021, the Ukrainian company Ivchenko-Progress and the Turkish company Baykar Makina signed an agreement on the supply of engines for drones. The Turkish side will receive AI-322F engines.
In July 2021, Ukraine and Turkey signed an agreement on the supply of power units for ATAK-2 helicopters.
