The United States has transferred a rare WC-135 Constant Phoenix aircraft to Europe

The United States has transferred a rare radioactive contamination monitoring aircraft to Europe. He has already landed in the UK.

According to the UK Defence Journal, this is a rather rare event. Basically, the WC-135 Constant Phoenix is located in the area of the Korean Peninsula, although it also observes other countries. The last visit of such an aircraft to the UK was in August last year.

It is unclear for what purpose the WC-135 Constant Phoenix arrived in the UK. There are no official comments on this.

WC-135 Constant Phoenix is a special purpose aircraft of the US Air Force.  Its onboard equipment finds particles of materials formed during nuclear tests in the outboard air.
