Vladivostok. 1st of February. INTERFAX-AVN - About 20 ships of the Pacific Fleet (Pacific Fleet) will conduct a planned naval exercise in the waters of the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, the press service of the Pacific Fleet reported on Tuesday.
"The exercise will be attended by the corvettes "Thundering", "Perfect", "Loud" and "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov", the frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov", the large anti-submarine ship "Admiral Panteleev" and the control ship "Marshal Krylov," the message says.
Small missile and anti-submarine ships, minesweepers and missile boats will also take part in the exercise. Together they will work out ways of joint maneuvering, the order of interaction with naval aviation, and the organization of the squadron's air defense. At the end of the exercise, firing from naval artillery installations at sea targets and anti-aircraft missile systems at target missiles will take place.
During the exercises, the military will work out tasks to ensure the safety of maritime communications and areas where merchant ships sail.
On January 20, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the beginning of a series of maneuvers of the Russian Navy with the participation of more than 140 ships and vessels, over 10 thousand military.
The exercises under the overall leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolai Evmenov will cover the waters of the seas adjacent to the Russian territory, as well as operationally important areas of the World Ocean, the military said. Separate exercises will be held in the waters of the Mediterranean, Northern, Okhotsk Seas, in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Pacific Ocean, the Defense Ministry said.
