Units of the Western Military District received new self-propelled artillery installations.
According to the press service of the ZVO, 12 modernized self-propelled howitzers "Msta-SM2" were handed over to the military.
"Immediately after receiving the artillery pieces, the servicemen began to perform combat training tasks at military training grounds as part of the combat training activities of the winter training period," the ZVO reported.
The upgraded Msta-SM2 howitzers received an automated fire control system. This increased the aiming rate of fire. The machine can also use digital maps for orientation on the terrain.
