The Russian Navy has become interested in the Haska-10 hovercraft. The development of the Kalashnikov group of companies allows you to perform tasks in the conditions of the Far North. This was announced by the general director of the shipbuilding enterprise "Rybinsk Shipyard" (part of the Kalashnikov group of companies) Sergey Antonov, reports TASS .
"The Navy is showing great interest in this vessel, because it is a reliable and all—weather transporter for equipment and cargo in the conditions of the Far North or in other places where there is no developed infrastructure," Antonov said on the air of the Military Acceptance program on the Zvezda TV channel.
The General Director of the enterprise stressed that the carrying capacity of the new hovercraft is ten tons. This allows the Haska-10 vessel to take on board several UAZ SUVs or Tiger multipurpose vehicles.
Work on the vessel of project 03360 started in 2018. "Haska-10" can perform tasks at temperatures up to minus 50 degrees Celsius. The cruising range of the vessel is 400 miles, and the power plant with two engines provides a maximum speed of up to 40 knots. The vessel is being developed within the framework of the state program "Development of shipbuilding and equipment for the development of offshore fields for 2013-2030".
In September, sources in the defense ministry reported that Russia plans to build a series of hovercraft. The carrying capacity of the boats can be up to 70 tons.
