The Russian Helicopters Holding Company of Rostec State Corporation supplied six helicopters to the PSB Leasing Group of Companies in the interests of the National Air Ambulance Service (NSSA).
The products of the Kazan Helicopter Plant – three Ansat and three Mi-8MTV-1 - were sent to the regions of the country.
The helicopters are being delivered under a large contract for 66 vehicles, which was concluded in January 2021. During the MAKS-2021 air show, the first car was delivered. At the moment, Rostec's sanitary service has already received 14 helicopters under this agreement. The total fleet of the NSSA is 22 aircraft units – 11 Ansats and 11 Mi-8MTV-1.
"The development of sanitation improves the quality, speed and availability of medical services, especially in remote areas. Deliveries of modern helicopters for the NSSA have picked up a good pace, shipments occur regularly. Six more vehicles that were transferred for the needs of the NSSA will serve in various regions of the country: Ansats went to Veliky Novgorod, Beslan and Orel, and Mi-8MTV-1 - to Novosibirsk, Petrozavodsk and Barnaul," said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec State Corporation.
Helicopters for air ambulance are prepared to be equipped with medical modules for transporting patients. So, "Ansats" can be equipped with special boxes for newborns or infectious boxes for patients with coronavirus.
The Ansat light helicopter is designed to transport one patient accompanied by two doctors and is equipped with an electronic display system – the so-called glass cabin. Its design allows you to quickly transform the car into both a cargo and a passenger version with the possibility of transporting up to 7 people. "Ansat" can be used in the temperature range from -45 to +50 degrees Celsius, as well as operated in the highlands. It is capable of speeds up to 275 km / h, the maximum flight range is up to 505 kilometers. The machine is very convenient when operating in urban conditions.
The Mi-8MTV-1 multipurpose helicopters, in addition to preparing for the installation of medical modules, are equipped with 22 seats and additional outboard and internal fuel tanks. The helicopter has improved flight performance due to a more powerful power plant, modified avionics and changes in the design of the fuselage. Its maximum speed reaches 250 km / h, and the flight range is 1150 kilometers. The machines have unique flight-technical and operational characteristics and can be used in almost all climatic conditions. The design and equipment of the Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter make it possible to operate it with autonomous basing on unequipped sites.
In 2021, Rostec helicopters performed 5020 sorties and rescued over 6 thousand patients, including 687 children and 280 infants under the age of one year.
