Izvestia: Russia will show NATO its capabilities at the Navy exercises
Russia will show NATO its capabilities "in relation to the Middle East and North Africa" during the largest exercises of the country's Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, Vasily Kashin, director of the HSE Center for Integrated European and International Studies, told Izvestia.
The event, according to the newspaper, will bring together ships of four Russian fleets, including cruisers, frigates and large anti-submarine ships.
"The possibilities of simultaneous involvement of ship formations in case of some large-scale crisis are being worked out. The tasks at each theater are different, but the exercises themselves are connected with the tense military-political situation in the world. This is a demonstration of the firmness of our position and strength," the expert said.
In January, The National Interest columnist Caleb Larson said that the K-560 Severodvinsk submarine of the 885 Yasen project remains the most advanced submarine of the Russian Navy.
In the same month, the American edition of The Drive wrote that the large landing ships (BDK) "Korolev", "Minsk" and "Kaliningrad" of Project 775 (according to the NATO classification - Ropucha, which means "Toad" in Polish) after Sweden, Great Britain was alarmed.
