In Russia, the preparation of the oceanographic research vessel "Evgeny Goriglejan" for sea trials has begun. The ship of project 02670 was built for the Ministry of Defense of Russia. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Baltic Shipbuilding Plant "Yantar" (part of the "United Shipbuilding Corporation").
"The oceanographic research vessel "Evgeny Goriglejan", built at the Baltic Shipbuilding Plant "Yantar" (part of the USC), is preparing for the start of sea trials," the message said.
The press service reported that on January 25, the research vessel "Evgeny Goriglejan" made the transition from the water area of the Yantar plant to Baltiysk.
The crew of the ship and the employees of the plant are preparing the OIS for the start of the factory sea trials. During the work, the ship will make several trips to the sea. Verification of all systems and mechanisms of the IPO is also provided. After that, the ship will be handed over to the customer.
The ship "Evgeny Goriglejan" is based on the upgraded rescue tugboat MB-305. Work on the ship began in 2016, and in 2020, the OIC was launched. The ship is designed for environmental monitoring, underwater work and oceanographic survey of the bottom.
Earlier, the press service of the Northern Fleet announced the start of exercises in the Barents Sea. About 30 warships, submarines and support vessels will be involved in the maneuvers.
