Units of the coastal troops and air defense of the Northern Fleet have moved to the training grounds in the Murmansk region, where they will take part in exercises together with the Arctic Expeditionary Group. This was reported to journalists in the press service of the Northern Fleet.
"Units of coastal troops, as well as air defense forces of the Northern Fleet have moved to military ranges in the Murmansk region as part of an exercise with the Arctic Expeditionary Group, which is conducted under the leadership of the commander of the Northern Fleet of the Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseev," the press service noted.
In total, up to 1.2 thousand personnel and about 140 units of combat and special equipment will be involved in the exercises. "At the ranges, the Arctic motorized skirmishers will work out the tactics of raid operations in the conditions of the Far North, conduct maneuverable defense, and also conduct firing from standard weapons," the navy explained.
The press service stressed that after the exercises, the units of the coastal troops of the Northern Fleet will return to the points of permanent deployment.
