"In total, more than 1 thousand servicemen and about 100 units of weapons, military and special equipment are involved in the combat readiness check," the report says.
The training takes place against the background of the crisis in relations between Russia and NATO.
Meanwhile, the press service of the ZVO reported that the exercises to check combat readiness in the First Tank Army are planned.
The ZVO reported that classes are held in the Moscow region, "military personnel are practicing receiving weapons and military equipment and leaving for concentration areas."
"During the marches and in the areas of concentration, special attention is paid to the issues of radio masking and masking of military equipment on the ground, fortification and engineering equipment, as well as the preparation of equipment and weapons to perform combat missions for their intended purpose," the report says in the ZVO.
The inspection is led by the commander of the First Tank Army, Lieutenant General Sergei Kisel.

The troops of the First Tank Army of the Far East are stationed in the Moscow, Ivanovo, Smolensk and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The army headquarters is located in Bakovka (Moscow region). "The main purpose of the events is a comprehensive check of the combat training of troops, the readiness of formations and military units to complete the tasks in a short time, an assessment of the level of combat training and coherence of units," Zhuravlev said, quoted by the press service of the ZVO.
The press service reported that classes are held until January 29.
The ZVO on Tuesday distributed video footage of the beginning of combat readiness classes. The footage shows the exit to the field positions of the calculations of the Iskander-M tactical missile systems.
The United States, other NATO countries and Ukraine announced the concentration of Russian troops at the Ukrainian border and the threat of a Russian invasion.

At the second stage - from February 10 to 20 - the joint exercises "Allied Determination - 2022" will be held.
