In 2021, the Armed Forces received more than 5,000 new and upgraded weapons, military and special equipment. Among them are the S-400, S-350 air defense systems, Bastion missile systems, more than 100 aircraft and helicopters. This was announced on Thursday at the Single Day of Acceptance of Military products by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

"900 armored combat vehicles, 3 modern submarines, including the nuclear submarine Prince Oleg, armed with Bulava ballistic missiles, 4 surface ships, 10 combat boats, 17 vessels and support boats," the head of the military department listed. According to the Minister, 151 units of new and modernized aviation equipment have been received from the industry, including 77 aircraft, 29 helicopters, 45 complexes with unmanned aerial vehicles. "4 upgraded Tu-95MS missile carriers, 3 Bastion coastal missile systems, Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems, S-400 Triumph and S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile systems," Shoigu added.

The Minister also recalled that last year the rearmament of the first regiment to the Avangard missile system with intercontinental ballistic missiles equipped with hypersonic gliding cruise blocks was completed. A separate aviation regiment has been formed, armed with MiG-31I aircraft with a hypersonic Dagger missile.

As a result, the equipment of the army and navy with modern weapons increased to 71.2%, and the strategic nuclear forces - to 89.1%. Serviceability of military equipment is maintained at 95%.

The military commander said that the new military equipment entering the troops is "intensively exploited and has proven itself well during various combat readiness checks, exercises, trainings, military-applied competitions."

There was also a mention of COVID-19. "Despite the restrictions associated with coronavirus infection, the proper work of industrial enterprises and military authorities has been organized, the rhythm of production and the set pace of execution of the state defense order have been ensured," Shoigu stated.

"As a result, plans for the supply of new types of weapons, military and special equipment in 2021 have been fulfilled by 99.4%, and repairs - by 99.7%," Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko reported to Sergei Shoigu.
