The head of Sevmash Budnichenko: the construction of the K-329 Belgorod submarine is being completed
The construction of the K-329 Belgorod special purpose nuclear submarine for the Russian Navy is at the final stage. Mikhail Budnichenko, General Director of the Sevmash plant, told about the submarine construction process in an interview with the Plant magazine.
"At the final stage — the Belgorod nuclear submarine. Hard work is going on in the workshops of the enterprise: there are two lines of ships of the Borey-A and Yasen-M projects on the stocks, as well as the Khabarovsk nuclear submarine," Budnichenko said, answering a question about the results of work in 2021.
The submarine "Belgorod" was laid down as a cruiser of the project 949A "Antey", but later the submarine was re-mortgaged under the project 09852. Belgorod should become the carrier of Poseidon nuclear torpedoes.
Earlier, the publication 19FortyFive named Russia's deadliest weapons. The publication noted "Belgorod" with "Poseidons". The author stressed that the torpedo can be aimed at any coast of the United States.
In October, Mikhail Budnichenko reported that work on the Belgorod, Novosibirsk and Prince Oleg submarines was proceeding according to schedule.
In June, the Belgorod submarine entered the White Sea for the first time for factory sea trials.
