Moscow. January 20. INTERFAX - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Armed Forces in 2021 received more than 5,000 new and upgraded weapons, military and special equipment.
"Among them are 900 armored combat vehicles, three modern submarines, including the nuclear submarine Prince Oleg, armed with Bulava ballistic missiles, four surface ships, 10 combat boats, 17 vessels and support boats," Shoigu said on Thursday, opening a Single day of acceptance of military products.
According to him, the industry has received more than 150 units of new and modernized aviation equipment, including 77 aircraft, 29 helicopters, 45 complexes with unmanned aerial vehicles.
"Four upgraded Tu-95MS missile carriers, three Bastion coastal missile systems, Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems, S-400 Triumph and S-350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile systems," the minister listed, speaking about the results of the past year.
He noted that the proper work has been done under the conditions of restrictions related to COVID-19.
"Despite the restrictions associated with coronavirus infection, reliable and proper work of industrial enterprises and military authorities has been organized, the set pace of implementation of the state defense order has been ensured," the minister stated.
