TSAMTO, January 14. The new engineering and sapper regiment of the Eastern Military District (VVO), stationed in the Republic of Buryatia, received the latest robotic mine clearance complex "Uran-6".
The Uran-6 RTC is designed to neutralize mines and other ammunition installed by the enemy or left on the ground after fighting.
The Uran-6 mine clearance complex is a light armored vehicle with remote control and mine clearance systems. Depending on the trawling equipment used, the machine weighs 6-7 tons. A tracked vehicle with a height of about 1.4 m is able to overcome a wall up to 1.2 m high.
The control of the RTC "Uran-6" is carried out via a radio channel using a remote control. The operator of the complex is located at a safe distance and can work at a distance of up to 1000 m from the machine.
The mine clearance machine is capable of withstanding explosive detonation with a capacity of up to 60 kg in TNT equivalent. The equipment of the complex allows you to detect dangerous objects, and then determine their type. Thus, depending on the type of ammunition detected, the operator of the complex can choose the most effective and safe way to neutralize it.
To work at the complex, the best specialists of the VVO engineering units were trained at the mine training center of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Nakhabino near Moscow, the press service of the district reports.
