"All these are dangerous signals that cannot be ignored. And how can you react to them? It is precisely by preventive measures, strengthening their defense. Russian coastal forces abroad are considered very dangerous for ships because they are equipped with the latest technologies, including those that other countries do not have," Vetrenko said.
Earlier it was reported that Russia will strengthen its military presence in the Kuril Islands. In addition to the Bastion complexes, the country will deploy air defense and electronic warfare systems on Matua Island.
On December 2, the calculations of the DBK "Bastion" took up duty on the Kuril Islands for the first time. They have the ability to hit sea targets at a range of 350 kilometers and land targets at a range of 450 kilometers with cruise missiles.
