MOSCOW, Dec 4 - RIA Novosti. More than 20 different types of weapons have been created, tested and adopted during the 20 years of the existence of the Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation, CEO of the corporation Boris Obnosov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Of course, what we have succeeded in principle over these years, because we (solved) not only social tasks, but, most importantly, (tasks) of the country's defense capability, we have created, passed state tests and adopted more than 20 different types of weapons," he said.
Obnosov noted that over the years of the corporation's existence, enterprises have been technically re-equipped, and parts of unused production areas have been transferred to civilian housing for employees.
The head of the corporation also mentioned the production of equipment for civilian use – so, according to him, by 2025, the corporation will produce about 28% of Russia's civilian drones, which will be used as taxis and for cargo transportation.
The Tactical Missile Armament Corporation was established in 2002 on the basis of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise GNPC Zvezda-Strela and includes a number of enterprises producing high-performance missiles, guided bombs and air, land, and sea-based weapons systems. It is a leading holding company of the Russian military-industrial complex specializing in the development of hypersonic weapons.
In 2021, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, Boris Obnosov was awarded the title of Hero of Russia for his significant contribution to strengthening the country's defense capability and high professionalism shown in solving tasks of special national importance.
