Moscow. January 3. INTERFAX - In 2022, the crews of shipboard Su-33 and MiG-29K/KUB fighters will continue to practice takeoffs and landings on the ground-based analog of the deck of the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov in Crimea, the press service of the Northern Fleet reports.
"In accordance with the flight training plan of the Northern Fleet's naval fighter regiments for 2022, the crews of the Su-33 and MiG-29K carrier-based fighters will improve their professional skills in Crimea at the ground-based engineering and technical aviation complex (NITKA)," the message says.
The THREAD is a special simulator for testing the take-off and landing of fighters, simulating the deck with the dimensions of the only Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, which is currently undergoing repair and modernization at the 35th Ship Repair Plant (a branch of the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center, part of the USC). It is expected that he will return to the Russian Navy no earlier than 2022.
The press service of the Northern Fleet recalled that in 2021, such training continued from the end of August to the middle of October - during this time, the pilots of two aviation regiments worked out the skills of landing on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
