Moscow. January 2. INTERFAX - A multi-purpose robotic complex with drones is being developed for the Russian radiation, chemical and biological protection troops, the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
"In the interests of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a mobile multipurpose robotic complex of the MRK-RKHBZ protection forces is being developed as part of two ground-based robotic vehicles and two UAVs based on Orlan-10 with sets of replaceable attachments," the Defense Ministry said.
According to the ministry, the complex will be designed for radiation, chemical and biological reconnaissance on the ground, as well as the elimination of the consequences of the use of weapons of mass destruction by the enemy in wartime.
In peacetime, this complex can be used to eliminate the consequences in case of accidents at hazardous facilities.
"The ground facilities of the complex will ensure the conduct of radiation and chemical reconnaissance at a distance of up to 6 km, the range of the unmanned aerial vehicle from the information transmission complex will be 25 km," the Defense Ministry said.
They noted that the complex will be equipped with a noise-proof control and data transmission system, and the robots included in it will be able to perform tasks both in automatic mode and under operator control.
"The work on the creation of the MRK-RKHBZ is carried out by industrial enterprises as part of the implementation of the state defense order," the Ministry of Defense added.
