The engineering sapper regiment of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District stationed in the Yaroslavl region will be armed with several robotic complexes of mine clearance "Uran-6" next year. This was reported by the press service of the ZVO.
They clarified that with the help of this sapper robot, it is possible to make passages in anti-personnel minefields in remote control mode and carry out continuous cleaning of the area from explosive objects with a capacity of up to 4 kilograms in TNT equivalent. At the same time, the operator controls the robotic complex from a distance of up to 1 kilometer.
It is known that our military has successfully used "Uranium-6" in Syria during the demining of ancient Palmyra, the cities of Aleppo, Deir ez-Zor, and other settlements. It weighs under 6 tons, is equipped with four video cameras that give a circular view, and is quite easy to operate. "Uranus" can itself remotely detonate ammunition using a 30-mm automatic cannon. Which guarantees the complex a sufficiently long operational life. And the sapper robot is equipped with five different trawls that withstand a close explosion.
But the main thing is that the designers installed equipment on it that allows not only to find and destroy all existing types of ammunition, but also to identify them beforehand. That is, "Uran-6" will distinguish an aerial bomb from both an artillery shell and an anti-tank mine. The military claims that there has never been anything like this in the army before, and only one such machine replaces two dozen full-time sappers.
