The Celestial Empire commissioned the first serial universal amphibious assault ship Type 075, called Guangxi. The operation of the main UDC began in April.
A landmark event for the Naval Forces of the People's Republic of China took place: They received the universal landing ship Guangxi, which became one of the largest naval combat units in the history of China. The ship was commissioned in December. It was named after Guangxi, an autonomous region in the southern part of the country.
The lead Type 075 was built in an extremely short time, which has already become the norm for Chinese shipbuilding. The first ship was commissioned during a ceremony in April. The UDC was launched in September 2019, and sea trials began in August 2020.
The 2nd PLAN #Chinese #Navy Type 075 assault ship seems to be named GUANGXI 32, at least this ballcap seems to indicate. Ship began trials 21 Dec 2020 and is expected to be commissioned soon, a point when generally the name is officially announced. Guangxi was launched in April 2020, sea trials began in December last year. The third Type 075 was launched this January. He went on sea trials in the fall.
China officially started developing the Type 075 in 2011. According to analysts, Beijing may use such ships in the event of a war with Taiwan, which has been often talked about in the media lately.
According to open sources, the displacement of the Type 075 UDC is 36 thousand tons. About 30 helicopters can be based on its board. The total number of Type 075 that China plans to build is estimated at eight units.

And although the Type 075 is smaller than the new universal amphibious assault ship of the America type created in the USA, the "Chinese" is still much larger than the famous French Mistral.
The Russian universal amphibious assault ships of the project 23900 of the Ivan Rogov type will be comparable to the Type 075, but they are still only being built. Recall that Russia laid the first UDC in its history last year: there are only two ships - "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko". They are planned to be commissioned in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
The composition of the aviation group indicated in the media is up to 16 helicopters and several drones. The amphibious capacity of the 23900 project is up to 1,000 marines and up to 75 units of military equipment. Up to four large boats will be placed in the dock chamber of the ship for landing.
Recall that an important event for the Russian Navy took place recently. Two nuclear submarines of the fourth generation were commissioned - the strategic K-552 "Prince Oleg" and the multipurpose K-573 "Novosibirsk". The second can become the carrier of a new hypersonic missile, serial deliveries of which should begin next year.
