Russian VM-V helicopter simulator targets have high flight characteristics and therefore have become aerial sparring partners for Orion drones.
During the exercises, the Orion attack drones were supposed to break through to a military airfield, detect and destroy taking-off targets. As the means of objective video monitoring show, the drones successfully coped with the tasks set - helicopter drones were destroyed.
According to the press service of Rostec Group, VM-V drones are capable of being in the air at an altitude of 2.5 kilometers for at least two hours. The maximum range of radio communication with the device is 150 kilometers.
In addition, the developers of the drone are actively working on its modernization, including increasing the target load, range and duration of flight.
"Helicopter simulator targets can now be used for aerial reconnaissance, real-time targeting, as well as for combat strike applications without involving manned aircraft," said Igor Nasenkov, CEO of Technodinamika Holding.
