MIC: the X-35 missile of the Bal complex can be used against targets in Norway
On the Sredny Peninsula in the Murmansk region, there is a battery of the coastal anti-ship complex "Bal", capable of hitting the Norwegian Kirkenes and Verde, says the Military-Industrial Courier (MIC).
The weekly reminds that "just 50 kilometers from Murmansk, the Norwegians allowed the American military radar Globus III, a joint project of the US Air Force and the Norwegian intelligence Service, to be placed on their territory," and the range of the X-35 missile of the Bal complex, equipped with a 145-kilogram warhead, is 130 kilometers.
"The missile system can also be used against ground targets, which in this case is indicative," the publication says.
The publication writes that the version of the X-35U6 PKR differs in the maximum firing range increased to 260 kilometers. "Even the basic version of the X-35 missile is enough to make the radar maintenance staff in Verde feel uncomfortable," the weekly says.
The publication claims that it takes less than ten minutes to prepare for the firing of the Bal coastal missile system (DBK). With a salvo launch, the interval between rocket launches does not exceed three seconds. The DBK is capable of firing 32 missiles per approach.
In December, military observer Viktor Litovkin said that the Bastion missile defense complex on the Kuril island of Matua would protect Russian waters.
